On August 3rd and 4th, 2002 the Yankee Air Museum celebrated their 4th annual Aircraft Display, Salute to Freedom. The show highlighted 70 plus years of aviation history, reliving the thrill of bombers and fighters from WWII and Korea to the air power that protects our skies today. Mike Luther, and the rest of the Yankee Air Force did another superb job this year, and the crowds showed their appreciation with what was probably the greatest attendance figures yet. Although the scheduled symposium speakers were 4 members of the Doolittle Raiders, illnesses prevented them from attending. However, Mike and his team were not caught off guard, and managed to restructure the show with 2 members of the "Flying Tigers" and 2 more from the "Black Sheep" squadron. Be sure not to miss this year's show, at the YAF Museum, Willow Run Airport, Belleville, MI.
